Many students benefit from regular one-on-one coaching and practice with a learning specialist when transitioning to the college-level learning environment or facing difficult coursework. Our expert professional staff are available to meet with you by appointment throughout the semester.

Stop by the ARC to meet our Math Specialist and our Writing & Learning Specialist.

The ARC offers FREE tutoring for all students in a variety of academic subjects as well as support for general writing, reading, math, study, and time management skills. Individual and group study sessions are available.

Remember to use ARC services proactively throughout the semester to practice and build confidence in your knowledge and skills. Let us help ensure you are on track to achieve your learning goals. To access tutoring services:

• Make an appointment. Contact a tutor directly to make an appointment for tutoring. Please allow the tutor at least 24 hours to give time for a response. You may also call (478) 757-2848 or email the ARC (arc@yyhgy.com) with questions about ARC services or to schedule an appointment with a tutor. 
• Appointments to see the learning specialists are available daily throughout the day. Please visit the ARC website to schedule a writing or language session.
• Upper-Level sciences tutoring. Upper-level Biology, Chemistry, Accounting, and Nursing students are often able to sign up for one-on-one tutoring through WYZANT. Please contact arc@yyhgy.com for more information.
• Attend PASS in the library! Peer assisted study sessions (PASS) are FREE group study sessions facilitated by ARC peer tutors or learning specialists. Students should bring their own materials and have assignments to complete while in attendance. 

The ARC, library staff, and campus student organizations co-host these opportunities to practice study techniques with peers in a fun atmosphere. Snacks, games, and music provided! Watch for upcoming dates on the weekly Stall Wall.

ARC staff are available by appointment to proctor math, foreign language, and writing placement assessments. If you are interested in taking your placement tests in person, call (478) 757-2848 or email the ARC (arc@yyhgy.com).

Each Wesleyan student is connected with a dedicated academic advisor who will offer personalized guidance and support. Your advisor will follow your progress closely and help answer any questions you have about campus resources, study techniques, managing your schedule, asking professors for help, registering for courses, and more. As you transition to college and acclimate to campus life, plan to check in regularly with your academic advisor.
