The Candlelighting Ceremony during Alumnae Weekend is your official induction to the Wesleyan College Alumnae Association (WCAA), an event so special and full of 135 years of tradition that you don’t want to miss it. Mark your calendar for Saturday, April 22.
It is an honor for an alumna to be asked to serve as a Candlelighter, as Candlelighters may light only one student’s candle. Your Candlelighter may be anyone who has attended Wesleyan and received 30 credit hours or more, but she must be from a class year prior to 2023. As soon as you receive her acceptance, please notify us so your names will be included in the Annual Meeting program. Register online or Download a candlelighting form.
If you are not graduating until the end of the summer, you are still eligible to be inducted into the Wesleyan Alumnae Association in April.
All participating seniors will be guests of the Alumnae Association at the Saturday Luncheon in Anderson Dining Room after the annual meeting.
Just as Wesleyan is the first College in the world chartered to grant degrees to women, Wesleyan’s alumnae association is also the world’s first, organized on July 11, 1859.
Sisterhood is a concept that Wesleyan women experience from their first days on campus, and from day one, your alumnae sisters look forward to the day you are welcomed into the WCAA – a global network where tradition and friendship come together to build a family of Wesleyan women who support each other from the moment they step on campus through graduation and beyond.
As a member of the WCAA you will form life-long friendships and stay connected to the College through alumnae activities that bring sisters together to communicate ideas, share experiences, create opportunities for professional networking and personal growth, while serving as ambassadors for the College.
The idea that you can make connections with alumnae before, during, and after your time at Wesleyan never ceases to amaze me. I hope to continue to make those connections because it expands my world view.”
Wesleyan College is privileged to steward many arts and cultural events and share them with the community. Most are free and open to the public. Wesleyan art galleries are open M-F 1-5PM and on Wesleyan Market Saturdays from 10AM-2PM.
